i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the fourth book in the Fire Bound Protectors series. This book tells about Crylaine and Jennifer. Jennifer is a student and social activist. When Jennifer meets Crylaine one night at the library, she thinks he is attractive but resists the urge to take him home with her, but makes plans to see him again the next night. When Laine comes the next night, he is late after fighting the Serpentinas. Laine kisses Jennifer then she follows him to the roof. When Jennifer gets there, Laine is in his dragon form and Jennifer is shocked. Laine shifts back to human and tells her he will protect her. Laine wants Jennifer and knows she is his mate, only Jennifer doesn’t want to be protected or become a damsel in distress. Jennifer is attracted to Laine but thinks this is moving too fast and wants to be sure she can handle the fact he is a dragon. I really like this series and reading about how the dragons are fighting the Serpentinas and finding their mates. I like Laine and thought he really loved Jennifer and wanted to support her. Another good one.

Ok as a starter…I really like the heroine in this story, Jennifer is a woman after my own heart. She’s is straightforward and knows she wants to be an independent woman and she’s trying to change the world while she's at it, one rally at a time. Laine, a dragon shifter, living in New York has some catching up to do if he wants to keep Jennifer as his mate. Can he accept that she’s no damsel in distress that needs saving??

This book is absolutely fantastic! It is one crazy and enjoyable ride and I had so much fun reading it! It is a compelling, well written, passionate paranormal romance; with an amazing and interesting storyline that moves along at a brisk pace; is action-packed, suspense-filled, funny, and emotionally deep. Loveable characters – the chemistry between Jennifer and Crylaine is off the charts, instant and undeniable. . A really amazing read and comes highly recommended. Laine. like his two brothers went to town for two purposes – to protect his eldest brother’s wife from female dragons and to maybe find a mate of his own. But when he finally meets his mate, he is not sure how to proceed, as she is an independent young woman, refuses help and does not want to be seen as weak.
After an attack on the family house and a separate on his mate things get really difficult.
An interesting story, starting slow but picking up in pace. The description of the characters is good and it is easy to pick up on their emotions.

did so enjoy this book, I just wish it had been longer so I could give it more stars! This is the fourth book in the series, it’s another quick read which tells how Crylaine met Jennifer. Jennifer is a student in college, her go-to place to unwind is the library. One night she impulsively picks up a book about dragons and starts to read it.

Crylaine, who is a dragon shifter, notices her reading about dragons and his interest is piqued so he starts to chat with her. Crylaine asks to meet her the next night at the library.

They go up to the roof of the library where he tells her and shows her what he is, a dragon, will Jennifer be able to accept Crylaine? More importantly, will he be able to convince her to be his mate?

Dragons and Books — Ahhh, Perfection !!!
Jennifer stepped into the New York Public Library, her sanctuary in the chaotic city. It had been a rough day for the activist as she witnessed one of her friends get arrested and the rally they had organized so precisely disbanded. She needed to be miserable for a short while to resettle, so she avoided the upbeat front desk librarian she knew on a first-name basis due to hanging out there so frequently. She hated it when their message wasn’t getting a chance to be heard.

Following her nightly ritual, Jennifer closed her eyes and spun around in the aisle, grabbing a book from the shelf and letting fate decide what she would read. Tonight, it was Dragons. With so many more causes to support and important things in the world to study, why would she end up with a book about dragons? As she watched a harried-looking man frustrated as he browsed the periodicals, she became aware that another man had silently come up beside her and sat close! She swore she saw green flames in his eyes! He had a beautiful smile and she was very attracted to him. He commented on the book she chose, commenting on how fascinating dragons are.

The next evening, when Laine shows up at the library, he has obviously been in a very vicious fight. The Serpentina, female dragons, were constantly battling and attacking the males, and the previous night 3 had attacked Drake and Laine as they patrolled the skies. He wants to share his secret with Jennifer and allows her to follow him through the door to the roof of the library. He shifts into a dragon before she comes through the door. Only his beautiful eyes let her know it must be Laine, then he shifted back to human form and wrapped his arms around her. Can she accept in her heart that dragons are real? Will she still feel the same toward him? Can she be convinced that she is his mate?

I enjoyed this book and seeing that Laine has a chance to win the heart of his mate. We can count on the fact it won’t be simple if he does – his enemies are still out there trying to destroy him. The story line is well-paced and keeps up the suspense to thrill the reader. The description of what’s going on and how the characters experience those things is beautifully handled by the author. Don’t miss the chance to see how this dragon tries to find his dream.

This is another brother in the series and Laine was as much fun as the others. Jennifer was also a likeable character and the two had great chemistry. Still have the bad guys aka Serpentinas and some sexy time. This was a fast and fun read with this family of dragon shifters. Enjoyed it! I am voluntarily reviewing an arc I received from Booksprout.

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Crylaine’s Secret by Haley Weir is Book 4 of the Fire Protectors series. While this is a series read and is greatly enhanced by reading the series in order, you aren’t lost if you read this as a drop-in. (There are spoilers if you choose to read the books out of order.) Crylaine and Jennifer’s story is a quick and fast paced read with a bit of spicy sexiness thrown in. While I enjoyed this read, I felt that this story wasn’t as intense as the others. As a result, you get to enjoy the characters in a different way and see a different side of them all. There is a definite ratcheting up of the emotion and sweet romance in this one. I highly recommend this series, a fun and interesting take on dragons and their mates.

A good fast read that flows well and has unique characters, all makings for a very good book. It incorporates a family scene that any one who has a large family or been around a large family will enjoy, laugh, and cringe at this part. She was spot on with the family meet and greet. Read the book and see how it ends you will enjoy.

rylaine wants to find his mate and have children. Jennifer is going to college and is an activist. They meet in the library and are instantly attracted to one another. Crylaine shows her immediately what he is…will she accept him? The journey of love is not without trials, and it will take a few before these two find their HEA. This book is romantic and sweet. I am glad to see Laine finds his true mate. The Serpentina are out to destroy them still so he will have his hands full fighting them off and trying to woo his mate. This author just keeps getting better and better with each successive book in this series. It was well written and the characters were believable and likable. Crylaine and Jennifer handled the meet and greet with each other’s family with flying colors. But there were plenty of other obstacles before they reached their HEA. I loved this book so much that I bought my own copy.

This was a really good read. Crylaine is different from the other brothers. He is more emotional than the others. Jennifer tickled me when she took him to meet her family. Only family can embarrass you like that. I missed seeing or hearing about Riley (Arrlien’s mate). Having more than one mate explaining things to her may have made things easier. Besides Riley is my favorite. Anyway, I loved the way Jennifer went searching for him when he went missing. I want a dragon of my own. I volunteered to read an advanced reader copy and am under no obligation to leave this review.
